When inmates were close to serving their minimum sentence, they were eligible to apply to the Board of Parole for parole supervision. This series consists of two related records pertaining to the parole eligibility of Westfield inmates during the period 1945 to 1955. The first record is a list of inmates sent by Westfield's officers to the governor certifying that these inmates were entitled to a reduction in their minimum sentence based on good conduct and satisfactory performance of work duties. The second record is a list of inmates who were approved to apply to the Board of Parole.
